The Anthropocene is considered by many to be the new epoch where we awesome humans have changed the world; its climate, its ecosystems and even its geography and geology. And we have done so in just a few hundred years at a speed and magnitude that could never have been imagined over the previous 200,000 years of human existence.  Even now we can barely comprehend what the Anthropocene means and where it might be taking us.  It requires big picture thinking and understanding.  Facts and figures may help but somehow are not enough for real appreciation.  This is where visual media come in.
